Progression of a storm

Yesterday Melbourne was it's normal, wonderful, unpredictable, changeable self. I love my city so much. I love it that you really can't guarantee what you're going to get. Yesterday the weather forecasters were forecasting violent storms in the late afternoon.

"What???" said I at 4:45pm. "Surely not! Look at it! It's beautiful!"

"Hmm...maybe I spoke a little too soon!" (around 6pm)

Here it comes!

It was kind of cool watching it coming closer and closer, faster and faster.

It looked as though it was going to get nasty. (I love this shot. Kind of gives you the impression that the funnel of a twister is going to drop any moment!)

...but all we got was some lovely, grumbly thunder, some flashes of lightning and some lovely soaking rain.

Other suburbs weren't so lucky.
