The one in which she becomes a recycling ninja

We interrupt this series of serious blog topics to enter into the frivolous and creative. There's far too much seriousness going on here. Too much navel gazing and psychological exploration makes Leisa WAY TOO SERIOUS!

Last night I actually raided someone's hard waste. I've never done this before but I have been inspired by several bloggers who spy treasures at the side of the road and grab them and turn them into something of beauty. Anyway, on my jogging route one morning I noticed that someone had discarded a wooden chair. It had been there for weeks and weeks, just begging for someone to take it home and give it a makeover.

That person was me. I felt strange just pulling up there in broad daylight and grabbing the chair, so I waited for the cover of darkness last night and did it then. I may or may not have had a bit of a rush of adrenaline as I did so!

So, now I am the owner of a dusty, dirty, black kitchen chair with a very dirty cream coloured fabric seat. It also came with a few bonus red-back spiders, which I discovered crawling across my kitchen floor! (they have now gone to God) The chair is in really good nick; sturdy and stable. I'm looking forward to giving it a good makeover. I'm envisioning something white, or off white, or lemon and covering the seat in some sort of gingham or vintage floral......or stripes.

Pictures to follow.

What do you think? Suggestions please!
